Local Artist Donates Print for Loon Event

Local artist Joyce Wilking has generously donated a loon print in support of the upcoming Watershed Connections – Loons and Local Lakes workshop. Her artwork reflects a strong connection to the natural landscapes and wildlife of our region, and the donated print highlights the loon’s distinctive presence on local lakes—an important symbol of healthy freshwater ecosystems.

The workshop, scheduled for January 26th, will focus on increasing awareness and understanding of loon ecology, behavior, and the challenges loons face in today’s changing environment. Participants will learn how individual actions and community stewardship can help protect loon habitats and support long-term conservation efforts.

Joyce Wilking’s donation adds a meaningful visual element to the event, reinforcing the workshop’s message that conservation is strengthened when science, education, and creativity come together.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the loon print will be given away to one attendee. All participants who are present will be eligible to win.

The giveaway serves as a thank-you to attendees for their participation and interest in habitat conservation.
