Purple Loosestrife Beetle Release Event
Forest Lake Launch 3 739Q+764, Forest Lake, MNIn 2026, District staff began implementing purple loosestrife biocontrol management efforts following Minnesota DNR beetle rearing and release guidelines. An initial collection of 100 beetles was completed in May and placed on contained host plants for rearing. The beetles are then allowed to develop through several life stages, ultimately producing thousands of beetles for future…
