Hilo Lane Stormwater Retrofit
Project Description & Outcomes
This iron enhanced sand filter project filters runoff from a 14-acre developed residential area, resulting in improved water quality in Forest Lake.
The project also stabilized stormwater conveyance channels, stabilized lake shoreline, and implemented native plantings in order to prevent erosion.
The City of Forest Lake was a major partner in this project as it had input on project design and construction specs. The City also played a role in easement acquisition and coordination with multiple surrounding landowners in the neighborhood.
