DESCRIPTION:After 24 years on the state’s impaired waters list due to excess nutrients\, Comfort Lake is now slated for delisting — a major milestone for the community and the lake itself. This achievement reflects years of collaboration\, dedication\, and stewardship from the Comfort Lake–Forest Lake Watershed District\, the Comfort Lakes Association\, the City of Wyoming\, Chisago County\, and many local groups\, organizations\, and community members who worked together to improve and protect the lake’s water quality. \nWe will be having a short program to commemorate the activities and partnerships that have helped the lake reach this milestone. DESCRIPTION:The Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District invites you to join us for our annual State of the Watershed event on September 29th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Forest Lake American Legion. \nThis evening offers community members\, partners\, and stakeholders an opportunity to learn about the District’s ongoing efforts to protect and improve local water resources. We will share highlights from the past year\, provide updates on current and upcoming projects\, and discuss the partnerships and investments that continue to strengthen the health of our watershed. \nThe evening will begin with a social reception\, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with District staff\, Board Managers\, community partners\, and fellow residents. Following the reception\, District staff and board members will present an overview of recent accomplishments\, current initiatives\, and future priorities. Guests are then invited to enjoy a complimentary buffet dinner and reception. During the evening\, we will also recognize the recipients of the 2026 Watershed Champion Awards for their outstanding commitment to protecting and enhancing our local water resources.
